Gary Telleen, RPT

Gary Telleen is a Registered Piano Technician with over 35 years of expertise in piano technology and restoration. He earned his Bachelors from Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas, and his Masters Northern Arizona University.
For over two decades, Gary owned and operated Classic Piano Restoration in Arizona, specializing in high-quality piano rebuilding and service. After relocating to Kansas, he established Craftsman Piano Service which became Wichita Piano Services in 2019, continuing his commitment to excellence in piano care.
Gary is a member of the Wichita Chapter of the Piano Technicians Guild and has served as an instructor at the Piano Technician's Guild National & Regional Convention. He is dedicated to providing skilled service to musicians, educators, and institutions throughout the region.

Registered Piano Technician, PianoDisc Installer, & Piano Mover
Isaiah Dowds, RPT
Isaiah Dowds is a Registered Piano Technician. He was born in Germany to a military family and raised in the Midwest. He began his formal training in piano technology under the mentorship of Registered Piano Technician Gary Telleen, following his marriage into the family. Alongside his piano work, Isaiah has proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves for over 12 years. Isaiah has served as an instructor at the Piano Technician's Guild National Convention.
He specializes in piano tuning, action regulation and repair, and the installation of PianoDisc player systems.

Isaiah is a member and President of the Wichita Chapter of the Piano Technician's Guild.

Piano Technician & Piano Mover
Josh Hermes
Josh Hermes is a dedicated piano technician with a strong foundation in music education and performance. A native of Hutchinson, Kansas, Josh was immersed in music from an early age, which led him to pursue a degree in Music Education from Fort Hays State University. He later earned a Master’s degree in Trombone Performance after relocating to Kansas City with his wife.
Josh briefly taught music and band in the Wichita area before discovering his passion for piano technology. He began his career with Wichita Piano, training under the mentorship of Isaiah Dowds and Registered Piano Technician Gary Telleen.
Josh is a member and Vice President of the Wichita Chapter of the Piano Technicians Guild.

Restoration Technician & Piano Mover
John Telleen
John Telleen brings years of hands-on experience and a lifelong connection to the piano industry. Raised in a family deeply rooted in piano service, John began moving pianos in his early teens and has traveled through the majority of the United States as part of long-distance piano moving.
After high school, John pursued a career as a professional barber in McPherson, Kansas, where he worked for four years before returning to the family business. He now serves as an experienced piano mover and shop assistant, and is currently apprenticing as a piano technician. He and his wife have one child.

John is a member of the Wichita Chapter of the Piano Technicians Guild.

Piano Technician - Apprentice
Trevor Penner
Trevor grew up and lives in the Hillsboro, KS area. He studied piano at the Tabor College Music Preparatory School for 13 years. His passion for making music at the piano combined with an insatiable curiosity for how things work led to a pursuit of piano technology as a career. He is apprenticing with Gary Telleen, RPT and looks forward to expanding his skills. Trevor is a member of the Wichita chapter of the Piano Technicians Guild.

Piano Technician - Apprentice
Malachi Williams
Malachi is from Great Bend, KS and has been involved in music ever since elementary school. He has played multiple instruments over the years and has been playing piano longer than any other instrument. After graduating from Kansas State University Malachi became interested in piano technology. He is now apprenticing with Gary Telleen, RPT.

Scheduling Coordinator & Office Manager
Rebecca (Telleen) Dowds
Rebecca Dowds grew up in the piano industry. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas.
In 2019 she took over as office manager for Wichita Piano. Rebecca has served as an instructor at the Piano Technician's Guild National Convention and is a member of the Wichita Chapter of the Piano Technician's Guild.

In addition to her role at Wichita Piano, Rebecca is a homeschooling mother of four.
